INTINERARY

DAY 1

CHIANG MAI - CHIANG DAO

Morning begins with a meet-up at The Chiang Garage at 8:30 AM for a pre-ride briefing, bike check, and gear fitting. After a quick coffee, we hit the trails heading north out of Chiang Mai, carving through teak forest backroads and flowing dirt tracks past small villages and rice paddies. By midday we stop for a traditional Thai lunch in a countryside restaurant surrounded by paddy fields. In the afternoon, the terrain becomes more adventurous as we climb into the foothills leading to Chiang Dao, with rocky hill climbs, bamboo forest trails, and the occasional stream crossing — the perfect mix of challenge and fun. We arrive in Chiang Dao by late afternoon and check in to a comfortable mountain lodge with great views of Doi Luang Chiang Dao, Thailand’s third-highest peak. In the evening, we enjoy a well-earned BBQ dinner at the lodge, swapping stories from the trail over cold beers as the sun sets behind the mountains.

DAY 2

CHIANG DAO - CHIANG MAI

Morning starts with waking up to fresh mountain air and enjoying a hearty breakfast before setting off on the return leg, taking a different route south and exploring lesser-known trails that wind through remote hill-tribe villages and lush forest tracks. By midday, we stop for lunch at a small local eatery en route, a perfect chance to refuel and experience authentic northern Thai cuisine. In the afternoon, we ride the final stretch back toward Chiang Mai, with a mix of scenic off-road sections and fun, flowing twisties, rolling back into The Chiang Garage at around 4:00 PM, where refreshments and a post-ride debrief await.

FAQs

Support on the Chiang Dao Dash is matched to group size. For 1–3 riders, the tour runs with an experienced guide. Groups of 4–5 riders are accompanied by a guide and mechanic. Groups of 6 riders and above enjoy a full support crew, including a guide, mechanic, and support vehicle.

DOES THE CHIANG DAO DASH INCLUDE A FULL SUPPORT CREW?

Yes. We have a selection of riding gear available, including helmets, armour, jerseys, and boots, which is ideal if you’re travelling around Thailand and prefer not to carry your own equipment. Please note that availability and sizing can’t be guaranteed, particularly for boots where sizes may be limited. While we only source quality products, we can’t take responsibility for their protective performance. For maximum comfort and confidence, we always recommend riding in your own personal gear where possible.

DO YOU PROVIDE RIDING GEAR FOR GUESTS WHO ARE TRAVELLING LIGHT?

For the night, we stay at a local resort or mountain lodge in Chiang Dao. Set against the dramatic backdrop of Doi Luang Chiang Dao, these hand-picked stays offer comfort, character, and a peaceful place to rest after a big day of riding.

WHERE WILL WE STAY?

All meals and non-alcoholic drinks are included. Expect tasty, authentic Thai food, trail snacks, and plenty to keep you fueled throughout the ride
