FAQs

DO I NEED A MOTORCYCLE LICENCE?

Yes - a full, valid motorcycle licence is essential. You’ll need one from your home or resident country, and riding without the correct licence can void your insurance. Additionally, an International Driving Permit (IDP) is required to legally ride in Thailand. We do check licences and permits before the tour.

HOW ARE ROOMS ALLOCATED ON TOUR?

Accommodation is twin-share as standard, with single rooms usually available as an upgrade. Roommates are paired randomly — unless you’re travelling with a friend or request otherwise.

DO I NEED TRAVEL INSURANCE?

Yes - travel insurance is essential. Your policy must cover medical treatment and repatriation, and it’s your responsibility to ensure you’re covered for motorcycle riding and the engine size you’ll be on during the tour. Be upfront with your insurer to avoid any surprises.

DO I NEED TO BE PHYSICALLY FIT?

You don’t need to be an athlete, but this isn’t one for couch potatoes. Off-road riding can be demanding, the heat can be intense, and adventure can be unpredictable. A good general level of fitness will make any of our tours far more enjoyable.

DO I NEED TO BRING MY OWN RIDING GEAR?

Yes - especially for multi-day tours. Your own gear will fit better, feel more comfortable, and serve you far better over consecutive days of riding. We do have some rental gear available, but it's mainly intended for day rides only, and sizes are limited - so for multi-day adventures, bringing your own kit is the way to go.

DO I NEED A VISA?

Visa requirements depend on your nationality and whether you’re entering Thailand or Laos. Many travellers receive visa-free entry or a visa on arrival for Thailand, and most nationalities can obtain a visa on arrival for Laos, though permitted stay lengths vary. Always check the latest requirements for your passport before departure, as rules can change. If you need guidance, we’re happy to help point you to the correct resources.

HOW DIFFICULT ARE THE TOURS?

Difficulty is subjective — what’s easy for one rider might test another. To make choosing simple, we’ve grouped our tours into three clear levels so you can find the ride that suits your skills. Beginner - I’m a confident road rider with limited off-road experience. I’m ready to step up my skills and take on new motorcycle adventures. Intermediate - I have solid on-road experience and some off-road riding under my belt. I’m comfortable with gravel, dirt and mixed conditions, and I’m looking for a tour that challenges me while still allowing room to grow. Advanced - I ride regularly off-road and am confident handling varied terrain, obstacles and longer days in the saddle. I’m ready for tougher trails, technical features and more demanding adventure routes.

WHAT MOTORCYCLE GEAR SHOULD I BRING?

It depends on your tour. For road tours, we recommend well-ventilated, full-protective riding gear — a breathable helmet, jacket, riding pants, gloves, and boots to keep you safe and comfortable in the heat. For enduro tours, choose ventilated off-road protection such as body armour, an enduro/motocross helmet, gloves, and enduro or motocross boots. Good airflow makes a big difference, especially in Southeast Asia’s climate.

WHAT MOTORCYCLES DO YOU USE?

For our enduro and off-road tours, we run a well-maintained fleet of Honda CRF300L models — lightweight, reliable and perfect for the trails. For our road tours, we use a selection of larger-capacity motorcycles, with the specific model(s) detailed in each tour itinerary.
