The Mae Hong Mini Loop is a seven-day hit of pure off-road energy. Northern Thailand at its wildest, and enduro riding at its most addictive. From the moment you roll out of Chiang Mai, the terrain gets interesting fast: twisting dirt tracks, jungle singletrack, rocky climbs, river splashes, and those wide-open ridge lines that make you want to stand up on the pegs and just send it.
Every day throws something new at you. One minute you’re weaving through tight bamboo tunnels, the next you’re powering up technical climbs or flowing along remote backroads with mountains stacked on the horizon. It’s the perfect blend of challenge and fun—engaging, physical, and never repetitive.
When the helmets come off, the vibe shifts gears. Evenings are all about mountain towns, good food, and that satisfying post-ride tiredness you only get from a proper day on the trails.
This tour is for riders who love dirt, appreciate good terrain, and want a week that feels adventurous without being chaotic. If you’re after enduro riding at it’s finest, the Mae Hong Mini Loop delivers in every direction.

FAQs
The Mae Hong Mini Loop is a fantastic option for riders craving an off-road adventure through Northern Thailand’s rugged mountains but with less time to spare. The route packs in flowing dirt trails, forest tracks, river crossings, and remote hill-tribe villages, all the excitement of a longer enduro tour in a condensed format. It’s an accessible, great-value ride that doesn’t sacrifice thrills, and with the tour running close to Songkran, you can easily pair your ride with Thailand’s legendary New Year water festival for an unforgettable trip.
WHY CHOOSE THE MAE HONG MINI LOOP?
Songkran is Thailand’s traditional New Year festival, celebrated every April. It is best known for its lively and energetic water-throwing festivities, which symbolize cleansing, renewal, and good fortune for the year ahead. During Songkran, streets come alive with music, water fights, and a festive atmosphere enjoyed by both locals and visitors. Expect to get wet, witness traditional New Year ceremonies, and experience an unforgettable immersion into Thai culture and traditions.
WHAT IS SONGKRAN?
Our tour begins on the third day of the Songkran festival. We recommend arriving in Chiang Mai a few days early to enjoy the celebrations, especially around the historic moat, one of the most iconic spots to experience Songkran.
Accommodation fills up quickly during this period, so booking your hotel in advance is strongly advised.
DO YOU RECOMMEND ARRIVING EARLIER FOR TOURS STARTING DURING SONGKRAN?
Burning season happens when farmers in Southeast Asia clear fields by burning old crops. It can make the air a bit smoky at times, but it’s all part of the region’s centuries-old traditions. Songkran often lines up with the start of the rains and the tail-end of burning season, though the timing shifts each year. It’s a small trade-off for experiencing one of Thailand’s most vibrant celebrations and if you’d rather skip the smoky days entirely, just let us know and I am sure we can make something work for you.
WHAT’S BURNING SEASON, AND SHOULD I WORRY?
